PAL NORTH BREVARD BLAZE END-OF-THE-SEASON PICNIC! featuring an insprational message from

MEGHAN CORNETT The PAL North Brevard Blaze End-of-the-Season Picnic held on January 10, 2009 was a huge success. We were honored by having Meghan Cornett, who played Softball for four years on a scholarship for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, come to our picnic to give an inspirational talk to our parents and players. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the OUC Recreational Area was the perfect place to hold such an event. There was plenty of food and plenty of fun for everyone. Activities included Karaoke, volleyball, horseshoes, Polish Horseshoes and just plain old relaxing with family and friends.

PAL North Brevard Blaze Friendly Scrimmage
Chain of Lakes December 7th, 2008
The PAL North Brevard Blaze Girls Fastpitch Softball Organization hosted a Friendly Scrimmage Tournament on Sunday, December 7, 2008. We had a total of eight teams play from three age groups. Friendly Tournaments are non-sanctioned scrimmage events that give the girls an opportunity to play competitive softball at a reduced cost when compared to sanctioned tournament play. We would like to thank all the teams that came out to play in this event and we hope we will have the opportunity to host another Friendly Scrimmage Tournament again soon. Special thanks go out to the PAL Soccer Club for running the concession stand during this event. This gives all our team parents the opportunity to watch their girls play without having to take time out of their viewing to do concession stand duty.

The PAL North Brevard Blaze 12 & Under and 10 & Under teams participated in this year's Mims Christmas Parade. Our Softball organization was well represented by our Teams' Girls, Managers, Coaches, Team Moms and Parents at this event. Everybody who participated got to decorate and ride in the incredible ‘Swamp Buggy” and were also able to hand out candy to the parade spectators. The PAL North Brevard Blaze is quite honored to be a part of this community event that is a big part of the Christmas celebration in Mims. NSA Ormond Beach Stars and Stripes
Ormond Beach Sports Complex
November 8th & 9th, 2008
The PAL North Brevard Blaze teams did very well at the NSA Ormond Beach Stars and Stripes tournament on November 8th & 9, 2008.
The PAL North Brevard Blaze 10 & Under team went to the finals in this tournament! The 10 & Under team has made it to the finals in their last two tournaments. Our 10 & Under girls won the first two elimination games in hard fought Texas Tie-breaker finishes. In the final game, our heroic Blaze team faced a strong and well rested Total Impact team. With outstanding effort by the team and gritty performance by Kali C. (who had pitched all three games on elimination day) our girls finished second place in this tournament. The girls had a great week-end. The entire PAL North Brevard Blaze Girls Fastpitch Softball organization is very proud of these outstanding young ladies!
Thank you Coach Waldron for sharing this photo!
The PAL North Brevard Blaze 12 & Under had great pitching and defense the entire week-end, but just couldn’t get their bats going. They finished the week-end with 1 win and 3 losses and were eliminated in the first game they played on Sunday. There was some outstanding pitching from MQ, Kylie, and Brianne H. along with a gritty performance from Brooke K.
The PAL North Brevard Blaze 14 & Under team also played in the Ormond Beach Stars and Stripes tournament.

All our teams played well, but the PAL North Brevard Blaze 10 & Under team did exceptionally well and placed Runner-up in their division! Outstanding players for the 10 & Under team included Kali C., Josie W. and Taylor H. The 12 & Under Team also did very well by finishing their division in 3rd Place! Special thanks from the 12 & Under team to Ryen E. for guest playing and she had a great week-end. Also for the 12 & Under team, McKeenze Q. did a great job on her pitching. MVPs for the 12 & Under team were Mckeenze Q., Jax R. and Ryen E. Thanks to everyone for all your help in supporting our North Brevard Teams
Because the NSA Spooktacular tournament is a Halloween themed tournament, teams are encouraged to dress up in Halloween type costume uniforms for the first day seeding games. Our girls do not normally dress like this, but they all did a great job on their costume uniforms!

The NBYSA Blaze Girls Softball organization is now part of the Titusville Police Athletic League!
Our new name is PAL North Brevard Blaze Girls Softball!
As our organization grows, the Board of Directors determined that we needed to partner with an organization that operates year round. The NBYSA is a great organization, but only operates a few months of the year, whereas the Blaze Girls Softball organization operates year round. Being a part of the Titusville Police Athletic League gives us year round support. The Titusville Police Athletic League, Inc. (PAL) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that provides recreational, athletic and academic activities to youth throughout North Brevard County. Titusville PAL was incorporated on December 27, 1992 and has been serving the North Brevard area for over 15 years. Titusville PAL is a highly respected organization and their mission is very much in line with the mission of the Blaze Girls Softball organization.
Titusville PAL is a North Brevard County Parks and Recreation Recreation Partner. Because of this, the PAL North Brevard Blaze Softball organization will have improved access to North Brevard County Parks and Recreation assets. We will now have improved access to the Chain of Lakes Regional Sports Complex softball fields and will be able to use the quad-plex Adult Fields building as our organization headquarters. We will also be able to utilize the quad-plex Adult Fields concession stand. The sales through the concession stand will enable our organization to fund our program. We will also be in a better position to host NSA, ISA and other organizations tournaments and show-cases. Through the Titusville PAL, we will be able to build a first class softball organization that will serve our girls and our community.
The NBYSA is also a well respected and highly regarded organization with a long history of serving the North Brevard community. We as an organization will continue to work with the NBYSA to develop youth softball in our community. We greatly appreciate everything that the NBYSA has done to help develop our Fastpitch organization and look forward to continuing our relationship with this outstanding organization.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of your PAL North Brevard Blaze Board of Directors.
The PAL North Brevard Blaze would like to thank Reliant Energy Indian River Station for generously sponsoring the PAL North Brevard Blaze. Reliant Energy’s business philosophy is founded on building solid relationships with the people and communities they serve and our team truly appreciates and is humbly honored by being sponsored by Reliant Energy.
